In 1996
I completed a RAND/UCLA post-doctoral fellowship in health services
research, and was hired to be the Assistant Director of the "National
Center for Infancy and Early Childhood Health Policy." (left).
The year
of 1996 was our "honeymoon" year, and at one point Leora and
I took a memorable trip to Carmel and Monterey, where many of the pictures
below were taken.

In
June of 1996 (picture above), on either the 14th or 15th (I am told
by my wife) we stopped in a Santa Cruz California cafe.
Leora
was already pregnant with our first child and we thought this would
be our "last" childless vacation.
However,
we have since learned about the concept of the "babysitter"
and the "grandparent."
