Documented Life     An Autodocumentary     Miles Hochstein

Above: In our backyard in the Hollywood Hills, April 1970 processing date.

By the summer of 1970, after a year in California, I was begining to adjust to our neighborhood and the local kids. That summer I went to Camp JCA Barton Flats.

Above and Below, Summer 1970, Camp JCA Barton Flats

At the end (summer 1970) of my fifth grade year at Cheremoya Avenue Elementary School in Hollywood, and at the end of my first year in Los Angeles, I attended camp JCA (Jewish Camp Association (yes, it's redundant) ) in Barton Flats. The picture on the right, above, is from the summer of 1970, and is taken from the panoramic group photograph.

Above: "Trick Photography" on Ledgewood Drive. My friend Eric holds a minature Evon in his hand. Oh, we were clever tikes.

Above: This picture above shows me in the back seat of our white 1965 Rambler station wagon. My mother drove that car to Mexico in the summer of 1970 and it never returned, although she did. So this picture could be no later than summer 1970.
