Another
time, I remember running away, all the way across the street.
Then
I stood across the street pretending to be unable to decide
which direction to go (hoping to be stopped).
Finally
I went just a few feet down the hill into the park, and was
sad, alone, for a long time in the afternoon sun.
I
was sad, and yet I remember experiencing a kind of cautious
pleasure in having escaped, and being momentarily self sufficient
and alone in the warm sun.
Eventually,
no doubt, I got up and went home.
~
In
the winter we would toboggan and sled in the park.
